Natural gemstones exhibit their maximum beauty when combined with a fine cut. Each one is given careful consideration to bring out the best color, brilliance, design, and overall appeal. It is rare to find gems that have been well cut at prices that are still accessible, but we at John Dyer & Co. strive to bring you the finest gems possible at reasonable prices. We carry a wide range of gemstones including amethyst, ametrine, aquamarine, citrine, garnet, golden beryl, morganite, tourmaline, topaz, Oregon sunstone, tanzanite, sapphire, and many more.

Gems finely cut in many styles. From custom cut classic shapes with exceptional brilliance with flat faceting, to concave faceted and avant-garde fantasy cut gems reminiscent of modern art, we have a premier gemstone that will beautifully complement your personal style. Brilliant faceted cuts, Concave faceting and designer "fantasy" cut gems all have their special place so we have a wide variety of each.

John travels widely to procure the finest gem rough. He then crafts it into unique gem creations. His work graces the wardrobes of the most discerning jewelry buyers and rare gemstone collectors. Our goal is to bring out the maximum potential from every loose, natural gemstone.

We provide gemstones wholesale to retailers, goldsmiths, and designers. These beautiful and unique designer cut gems allow them to set their jewelry apart. Your unique piece of jewelry with one of John's creations is something that will delight today and become an heirloom that future generations will enjoy. Discerning customers have learned the age-old lesson: quality never goes out of style.
This video tutorial is a guide to distinguishing between good and bad gemstone faceting. Discussed are problems such as gemstone "windows" or "fish-eyes", poor polish, crooked girdles, and facet "meetpoints" that don't actually meet!
